Victoria Beckham reveals she was ‘naïve and innocent’ when she first launched her brand
Victoria Beckham reveals the secrets to attaining power in the fashion industry, admitting she was naïve when she first launched her brand.
The former Spice Girl, who was recently spotted soaking up the sun on vacation in Capri, Italy, claimed that she wouldn’t enter the same industry “knowing what she knows now.”
The 50-year-old fashion designer opened up to Vogue Australia while speaking to Nicole Kidman about her early years in the industry.
Beckham admitted that she was “naïve and innocent” when she began working on her own label.
In addition, the mother-of-four admitted that having foreseen the challenges in the industry, she might have lacked the “courage” to launch her career.
She told Vogue about her experience with the brand, “It was always my passion to be in fashion and beauty. I’d obviously been in the Spice Girls. I took the plunge, and there was an innocence and naivety. If I knew then what I know now, I might not have had the courage to do it, but I didn’t really know anything about the industry. I went into fashion in a very honest, humble way.”
Her once-floundering brand is finally achieving huge success, with significant conversions, 17 years after its launch, a milestone reached earlier this year.
