Tom Cruise agreed to Paris Olympics closing ceremony stunt on TWO conditions

Tom Cruise got more involved and more engaged to perform secret stunt at the Olympic closing ceremony

Tom Cruise recently agreed to perform the secret stunt at the Olympic Game closing ceremony in Paris on two conditions.

The Top Gun actor came down the Stade de France roof, landed in before hopping on a motorbike and riding out of the stadium while holding the Olympic flag.

Tom was reportedly shown on a pre-recorded film travelling through Paris and driving the bike on to a plane. He then parachuted down to the crowd and landed at the Hollywood sign in LA, per The Hollywood Reporter.

While discussing about the stunt at a CNBC x Boardroom: Game Plan Panel in Santa Monica, Casey Wasserman, president and chairman of the LA28 games said, “The best part of the story is we pitched on a Zoom, and the original idea was a person in the stadium as a stunt double.”

Cassey said, “Tom finished filming Mission: Impossible at 6pm in London, got right on a plane. He landed in LA at 4am and filmed the scene where he pulls onto a military plane.”

He mentioned that every “step of the way, Tom got more involved and more engaged, and eventually did the pre-taped stunt for free”.

Tom pointed out, “We’re like, ‘Well, there’s no way we’re getting this. We’re going to get four hours of filming time.”

“We’ll do the thing … with the Hollywood sign, he’ll hand the thing off and he’s done. Maybe we’ll get the other stuff, and the rest will be just a stunt double.’ About five minutes into the presentation, Tom goes, ‘I’m in. But I’m only doing it if I get to do everything,’” explained the Oblivion actor.

Besides first condition, Tom also asserted on doing the performance for free.
