Jesse Eisenberg recalls being restricted to meet Facebook CEO to prepare for the film
Jesse Eisenberg has opened about facing major hinderance while preparing his Oscar nominated role in The Social Network.
The 41-year-old played Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the 2010. He made up a special plan to prepare for the role, but he failed to execute the idea.
Jesse thought that he would go right up to the Facebook’s office and meet the CEO to observe how he talks. In short, he wanted to figure out how Mark was like, as part of his research for the act.
However, the producers stopped him and warned him not to pay the visit due to legal reason.
While speaking at a podcast, the Now You See Me star added: “So I was literally in my car driving up. I was going to just go to the office and I figured they would let me in.”
He continued: “[The film] was announced that I was in it. I just wanted to be in a room with him, just to see what the feeling is like. It just seemed like the bare minimum of research. How could you act in a movie [when] there’s a living person over there?”
Eisenberg recalled getting a call from Scott Rudin, who was speaking on behalf of Sony’s lawyers, telling him not to go there.
“He was telling me, ‘You can’t do that for a variety of legal reasons”, told the actor and filmmaker to Scott Feinberg at The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.
Jesse bagged an Academy nomination as Best Actor for The Social Network.
