The King net worth more than Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk?

King Charles considerably richer than his late mother Queen Elizabeth II

British King Charles, who was officially crowned in 2023, has more wealth than his mother Queen Elizabeth II who passed away in September 2022 to leave the throne for her eldest son.

The estimated personal wealth of the 75-year-old monarch in 2024 has been revealed by the Sunday Times Rich List that made the King considerably richer than his late mother.

Some royal fans and social media users might be thinking the the King’s wealth would surpass the two of the world’s richest people, but it’s not the case as he still needs to make more, more and more efforts to topple Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk to reclaim the title of the world’s richest man.

Jeff Bezos is once again the world’s richest man, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Amazon founder Bezos has gained $23bn in 2024, while Tesla chief Musk has lost $31bn, as per the analysis.

Bezos’s net worth currently stands at $200bn, topping the Tesla chief’s $198bn, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index revealed in March.

However, King Charles’ personal wealth has seen a huge jump, and he is now worth £610million (7.72million), according to new analysis.

The King has seen his personal net worth jump by £10million in the last year with calculations suggesting he has benefitted from a boost to the value of his property portfolio. The analysis came in the latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List.

Upon her death in 2022, he inherited private estates Sandringham in Norfolk and Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, which belonged to his mother the late Queen. These properties are said to account for much of his financial fortune.

The monarch’s estimated wealth, which is said to come from inheritance, property and investing, dwarfs that of Elizabeth II. The late Queen’s wealth was said to be £370 million in 2022, with Charles now estimated to be worth £240 million more than his mother, rising from £600 million to £610 million in 2024, the Mirror, citing new analysis, reports.

Only personal assets – not the Crown Estate, the Duchy of Lancaster, nor the Crown Jewels which are held in trust by the King for the nation – are included by the outlet when assessing the sovereign’s wealth.

Charles reportedly received a private income of around £23 million a year from the Duchy of Cornwall. It was used in part for non-official expenditure for himself and his family and for the official cost of personal staff, his office and official residences.

Prince William and Harry’s father King Charles reportedly ranks 258th in the list of the UK’s 350 wealthiest people and families, up from 263rd place in 2023.
