Taylor Swift album ‘spills’ prompts urgent social media action

‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is slated to release on Friday, April 19

Taylor Swift’s upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department may have leaked on social media on two days earlier then its slated release.

The reportedly ‘leaked’ album, which was set for April 19th release, had snippets of songs circulating on the web that led to a ban of certain keywords.

Social media platform, X (formerly Twitter, barred users from searching the phrase “Taylor Swift leak” on Wednesday, Us Weekly reported.

Some fans speculated that the leaked clips of the alleged songs come from a Google drive containing the entire TTPD record.

However, loyal Swifties were quick to defend the Grammy-winning singer as they flooded the tags with false links and shaming anyone who was sharing leaks from the forthcoming album.

“Stop f—king saying anything about TTPD, idc if you aren’t posting the song if you heard a leak or a ‘leak,’ don’t say anything on the TL, got it? It’s that easy,” one fan wrote.

Another said, “If I see ‘ttpd leak’ idc if it’s funny ai, it is getting reported ASAP.”

Amid the leak news, Swift took to X to write, “[Victory emoji] til The Tortured Poets Department.”

If the leaks prove to be legitimate, this would not be the first time one of Swift’s albums had leaked prior to release day.

In 2014, 1989 leaked three days before its drop date, despite Swift taking efforts to keep the music under wraps.
