The ‘Assassination Nation’ actress shares the best part of parenting her baby daughter with fiance Robert Pattinson, a silly daily tradition that involves the pool.
Singer and actress Suki Waterhouse and her fiance, actor Robert Pattinson, have entered a new and exhilarating chapter in their lives as parents to their baby daughter, whom they welcomed earlier this year. In an engaging interview with “8 Before 8” video series on “Today” , Waterhouse shared her favorite parenting moments, a precious daily routine, and the excitement of building memories with their daughter.
Waterhouse, 32, revealed a cherished part of their day involving their baby. “We have a routine of putting her in the swimming pool and jumping in and out of the pool,” she said. “That’s just always the most fun. End of the day, 5 P.M., we all get in the pool and be silly. It’s amazing,” she added. This playful ritual has become a highlight for the young family.
Reflecting on the transition to parenthood, Waterhouse shared some candid insights during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Ben +1” show. Despite not consulting many parenting books, she found comfort in less conventional resources. “I did not read any bloody books. Even when I kind of… Google is a great thing, isn’t it?” she explained. “Okay, but Reddit when you have kids, it’s like… Reddit in life. Reddit after everything, right?” This approach, albeit unorthodox, has helped her navigate the uncertainties of first-time parenting.
Waterhouse and Pattinson embraced the surprises of parenting rather than meticulous planning. “We were both actually just like, let’s just be surprised. Let’s just see what it’s like, and let’s be surprised by the whole thing,” she recalled. The first two weeks felt “absolutely insane” as they transitioned into their new roles. This period of adjustment also deepened Waterhouse’s appreciation for her own mother, offering a healing and enlightening perspective.
Additionally, Waterhouse has been able to blend her career and personal life seamlessly. She mentioned her excitement about sharing her daughter’s presence during her “Sparklemuffin Tour”, set to conclude on Dececember 21 in Atlanta. “There are so many hours before you get on stage of walking around, being in a different city,” she shared. “Doing that with her will be amazing.”
