Squid Game Season 3 to launch in 2025
Squid Game fans are in for a surprise as the creator has announced that the third and final season will launch this year.
According to a report by Forbes, the series director, writer and an executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk opened up that the third season would serve as the last of the series.
“I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season,” he said in a statement.
Hwang added, “The fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you in 2025.”
Squid Game Season 3 release date
It is pertinent to mention that the exact date has not been revealed as of yet.
However, Hwang spoke to Variety and said, “After season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”
Squid Game Season 3 plot details
Hwang shared that Gi-hun’s best friend from Season 1, Jung-bae’s death was planned as the perfect way to end Season 2.
“Audiences are definitely going to be shocked and very sad to see Jung-bae go,” revealed the creator in an exclusive interview with Tudum.
Hwang stated, “He’s also the only person within the games that Gi-hun can trust and completely rely on.”
Moreover, a mid-credits scene showed that the games would continue even after Gi-hun had been captured.
Hwang also mentioned that the third season would continue highlighting “the fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds”.
Squid Game’s cast in Season 3
The cast will include Gi-hun, Yong-sik, Geum-ja, Hyun-ju, Jun-hee, Myung-gi, Dae-ho, Jun-ho and In-ho.
