Snoop Dogg credits Tupac Shakur for leveling up his parenting style

Snoop Dogg opened up about Tupac Shakur’s bond with his eldest son Corde

Snoop Dogg revealed that Tupac Shakur was a more dedicated father to Dogg’s son Corde.

In an interview with People, the Drop It Like It’s Hot hitmaker opened up about how the late rapper trained him to be a better dad to his then-baby Corde, who has now turned 30.

“So when [Corde] was old enough able to pee and all that other s—, I started taking him to the studio with me,” Dogg, 52, looked back fondly to his days when he was working on his sophomore album Tha Doggfather in 1996

That’s when Shakur first met Dogg’s son and started raising him like his own, reminding Dogg at one point to feed the kid.

“Tupac loved him. It’s like his nephew. Tupac was a better dad than me,” the father of four described Tupac’s bond with his eldest son. “We’ve been up here [in the recording studio for] three hours and we ain’t got him nothing to eat.”

“It’s like I’m up here rapping and s—, I’m not being a father. [He was] training me,” the Young, Wild & Free rapper added.

Unfortunately, Dogg and Corde’s didn’t get to have much time with the All Eyez on Me rapper as he was tragically gunned down in a drive-by shooting in September 1996 and succumbed to his injuries six days later at the age of 25.

Despite the loss, Dogg carried forward Tupac’s parenting lessons and became a more dedicated father to Corde and his other son, Cordell, 27, who he welcomed in 1997.
