‘SNL’ hit with new setback ahead of 50th season

‘Saturday Night Live’ bears significant loss after another cast members exited the show before new season

Saturday Night Live is slated to mark a major milestone in the upcoming season but without two key regular cast members.

Much loved, Molly Kearney announced her exit from the NBC comedy sketch a day after Punkie Johnson revealed she would not return for the 50th season

“Yall, that’s a wrap on my time on SNL!” Kearney wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “Reflecting on the amazing two seasons I got on this show, it was such a dream come true.”

The now-former SNL cast member expressed her gratitude for being a part of the critically acclaimed comedy show and to all the cast and crew members.

“So many bald caps, so little time,” she added, referring to one of the photos in the carousel she posted while getting ready to play a manly role.

“It was a true honour to work with such a talented group of writers and DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE CAST,” she continued. “Special shout out to my oneayone1 crew @marcellohdz @internetdevon and @longfellow_michael.”

“Head up and heart out! Harold forever!” she signed off from the caption of the montage of behind-the-scenes snapshots from her gig.

Kearney joined SNL for Season 48 in 2022, while Johnson first appeared in the comedy sketch in its 46th season.
