Rihanna’s Barbados trip started with a triumphant return to her home country’s famous Crop Over Festival and continued with a fun family vacation. The singer and her partner, A$AP Rocky, were photographed enjoying a beach day, where they cuddled up together on an inflatable raft. The photos offered a rare look at the couple’s relationship dynamic during their downtime.
Earlier this year, Rihanna spoke to Interview about her history with Rocky. The two were friends long before they dated. “We’ve known each other for a long time,” she said. “I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution.”
“I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen,” she added. “It was just, ‘This is a flower. It’s either going to die or blossom. But I’m going to let it decide itself.
News of Rocky and Rihanna becoming official broke in December 2020. The couple welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 13, 2022. Their second son, Riot, came a little over year later on Aug. 1, 2023.
Rocky recently celebrated Riot’s first birthday on Instagram. “HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO MY 2ND BORN SON RIOT ROSE MAYERS ❤️,” he shared along with a carousel of family photos.
