Sarah Ferguson ‘in talks’ for slot on ‘This Morning’ after Holly Willoughby’s exit

Holly Willoughby’s exit from ‘This Morning’ last month has sparked a search for the next host

Sarah Ferguson was reportedly in the running to take the place of Holly Willoughby’s as a host on This Morning, following her shock exit from ITV last month.

Willoughby announced her exit “for the sake of her family” after it was revealed that she was being targeted in a kidnapping and murder plot.

According to a report by The Mirror, the Duchess of York was in discussions for a job with ITV which will feature the former royal in a guest slot on This Morning.

A TV source revealed to the outlet Fergie was a “real hit with the ITV bosses on Loose Women.”

“Everyone thought she was a natural. There is an open invitation for her to return to Loose Women and there is also talk of her doing a guest slot on This Morning or a mini-series for them,” the insider shared.

“She has done quite a lot of TV work before – at one point she stood in for Larry King in the US.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Fergie shared that she “hugely enjoyed” co-hosting Loose Women to promote a campaign breast cancer.

Moreover, back in March, Fergie appeared on This Morning when Willoughby was hosting.

When Willoughby asked if Fergie would return to the show, the former royal enthused, “Holly, I would love to do that,” adding “maybe when you’re back from your annual leave and the Easter holidays! But there’s no question, that is right on topic. We love to, love.”
