Robert Pattinson takes step back from Hollywood, eyes Korean market: Report

Robert Pattinson has reportedly been planning to settle in Korea for a while now

Robert Pattinson is ready to start a new chapter in his career.

Following the birth of his first child with Suki Waterhouse, the 38-year-old actor is reportedly ready to bid farewell to Hollywood and set up camp in Korea as soon as he wraps up his role in the upcoming 2025 sci-fi film, Mickey 17, per a new report by Life & Style.

An insider revealed to the outlet that the big move has been in the works for a while now, explaining, “Rob went into Mickey 17 with a very positive attitude around the idea of working with a Korean director and a mostly Korean crew to craft a movie that could be as big a hit in the Far East as it is in the U.S.”

The film is set to premiere in January 2025 and has been backed by substantial investment from Warner Bros., aiming to establish Pattinson as a significant figure in the Korean entertainment industry “from which he can mount more projects.”

The source also hinted at a broader trend where top Hollywood stars are exploring international markets due to the challenges facing the U.S. film industry.

“The biggest stars, Rob included, are looking at territories where they’ll have an easier time getting stuff made,” they concluded.
