Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos promised “more dynamic” and “thrilling” story-line of upcoming season of the internationally-acclaimed series Squid Game.
Sarandos recently revealed his plans to visit the filming set of Season two of the series in central Korea.
On Friday, February 16, the Netflix exec shared in a quick meet-and-greet event held in Seoul that he’s excited to visit the set, located in the central Chungcheong region.
He also expressed interest in meeting director Hwang Dong-Hyuk on Saturday, February 17.
Expressing his excitement, the co-CEO noted: “We are really excited about director Hwang’s ability for storytelling, more dynamic sets and more mind blowing storylines that are going to thrill the entire world.”
He further enthused : “I’m so impressed with the industry and vibrant storytelling, immediate industry with these incredible journalists to nurture this business and help share with us the passion for great storytelling that can change the world.”
Sarandos is all set to pay a visit to the visual effects company, Eyeline Studios Korea, later in the day.
The streamer CEO last visited Korea in June 2023.
Squid Game will return for a second season, enriched with new characters and games as communicated by the director in December 2023.
“You can look forward to Season 2 delivering a deeper story and messages with new games and new characters,” Hwang confirmed at the time.
The filming of the second season is still in the works and the release date is yet to be announced.
