‘You’ alums Justin W. Lo and Leo Richardson are adapting Marie Still’s novel for TV.
Amazon MGM Studios is teaming up with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for its next series project.
Ripa and Consuelos are executive producers of My Darlings, a thriller in development at Amazon. The couple’s Milojo Productions snagged the rights to a novel of the same title by Marie Still, which hits shelves Tuesday from Rising Action Publishing (and distributed globally by Simon & Schuster). Justin W. Lo and Leo Richardson (Netflix’s You) are adapting the book and will also serve as executive producers; James Griffiths (A Million Little Things) is attached to direct and exec produce.
My Darlings is described as a satirical thriller that centers on Eloise Williams, an interior designer, doting wife and mother, and queen bee of her social circle — who is also a serial killer. When a mysterious blackmailer threatens to expose her past, murder becomes not just a desire, but a necessity.
“I could not imagine a more talented team to bring Eloise, the serial killing mom, and her story to life,” said Still in a statement. “I’m thrilled to work with Leo Richardson, Justin W. Lo, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos and the team at Milojo, and James Griffiths and the team at Fee Fi Fo Films, whose vision I’m confident will resonate with viewers and be utterly binge-worthy.”
My Darlings will join a development slate at Amazon that also includes thriller The Orpheus Project, a RoboCop series adaptation and the recently greenlit Reacher spinoff starring Maria Sten and Scarpetta, based on Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling novels.
Milojo has produced a number of unscripted projects, including ABC’s game show Generation Gap, Logo’s docuseries Fire Island and E!’s Dirty Soap. On the scripted side, the company has produced three Lifetime movies and sold projects to ABC, Hulu and Apple TV+.
Ripa, Consuelos and Albert Bianchini will executive produce My Darlings for Milojo Productions. Lo, Richardson and Griffiths (via his Fee Fi Fo Films) also exec produce; Lindsay Maizel is a co-EP. Michael Halpern, vp production and development at Milojo, will oversee the project.
Milojo Productions is repped by CAA and attorney Jake Levy. Lo is repped by Rothman Brecher Ehrich Livingston, Art/Work Entertainment and attorney Erik Hyman. Richardson is with CAA and attorney Jared Levine. Griffiths is repped by WME. Still and Rising Action Publishing are repped by Sugar23.
