Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped back from the Royal Family back in 2020 and have since been embroiled in a bitter feud, but things weren’t always so strained
Meghan Markle is estranged from the Royal Family after a bitter fallout, but things weren’t always so tense.
The Duchess of Sussex joined The Firm when she started dating Prince Harry, with the couple getting married in 2018. Before their shock decision to step down from the Royal Family, Meghan and Harry completed a number of royal engagements.
Meghan met with crowds of fans during these outings and one resurfaced clip has caught the attention of fans. The former Suits actress had her very own princess moment when she met with a young fan at the Canadian High Commission in London in 2019.
The Sussexes were invited to meet the high commissioner as part of the annual Commonwealth Day celebrations. They also attended a special church service at Westminster Abbey alongside other senior royals to mark the special occassion.
During the outing, Meghan bent down to meet a young boy and girl, who presented her with a bouquet of white flowers. The boy also gave Meghan a little bow and the Duchess of Sussex shook the girl’s hand.
Sharing the clip on TikTok, one fan wrote: “She’s the cutest.” Other fans were also loving the sweet interaction and took to the comments to share their thoughts.
“I don’t care what anyone says I like them,” one person wrote with two heart emojis. Another said: “Meghan is so queenly I swear. UK must miss her. She has elegant and class.” A third fan commented: “Harry’s pride looking at all of that,” while someone else referred to the Duchess of Sussex as “Queen Meghan”.
Sadly, Harry and Meghan’s time in the Royal Family wasn’t to last and they announced their decision to step down in 2020. Since then, the couple have issued a number of attacks against The Firm.
In their bombshell Netflix docuseries, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and claimed the Prince of Wales left him terrified after he screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit. He also took aim at his dad, King Charles and discussed the tense Megxit crisis meeting held with the Queen in January 2020.
