The Duke of Sussex announced last month that he was becoming a US citizen after relocating stateside in 2020
It is believed that Prince Harry’s action is helping King Charles navigate through challenging circumstances.
As per a royal expert, Harry did the Royal Family a “favour” by revealing the alteration in his residency.
The Duke of Sussex declared the previous month his intention to acquire US citizenship after moving to the United States in 2020 upon resigning from his position as a senior working member of the Royal Family, alongside his wife, Meghan Markle.
Such a move is said to have seen the Royal Family label Harry “America’s problem” now, according to royal expert Tom Quinn, who said Harry changing his residency location was his “final goodbye”.
The royal expert exclusively tells The Mirror: “Prince William and King Charles see the Royal family as far too important to be jeopardised by a Prince who doesn’t want to be a prince.
“And besides, the royal family can do without Harry. It’s even been whispered at Kensington Palace and Clarence House that Harry has done the royal family a favour. A difficult, temperamental, unstable prince is now America’s problem.”
Quinn went on to explain how Harry may never receive a call to help his family, despite leaving the door open in previous interviews.
He claims: “Harry is scheduled to speak at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8 to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. The Games were founded by Harry when he was still a working royal so pressure isn’t being brought to bear to make him give it up now.
“But even if Harry begged to be allowed back to help out – even if his father King Charles became so ill he was unable to carry out his duties – whatever happens, the call to help will never go out to Montecito. Making the US his primary residence is Harry’s final goodbye.”
Harry’s decision to become a US resident was first noted in a Companies House document for Harry’s business, Travalyst Ltd, in which he listed America as his primary residence.
This was effective from June 29, 2023 – the day he was forced to turn over the keys to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, effectively leaving him without a permanent UK home.
