Meghan Markle urged to switch strategy after lifestyle brand hit with major setback
Meghan Markle, who is set to officially launch her lifestyle brand, received crucial suggestion as the Duchess of Sussex finds herself amid controversy.
The former Suits actress marked her return to social media earlier this year and has been making full use of it to promote her ventures, including her Netflix series, Lemonada podcast and her brand, As Ever.
Meghan, who has been living in Montecito California with Prince Harry and their two children for nearly five years, appears to be targeting audience not only in the US but also in the UK, despite the rift with royal family.
A marketing expert notified Meghan about a change in strategy to avoid conflict. He said the Duchess should shift her focus to a different audience rather than focusing on the crowd that doesn’t agree with her.
“No matter what she does, people will have an opinion,” Edward Coram James explained to the People’s Channel, via GB News.
The expert pointed to a specific incident in which Meghan reached out to Billie Eilish to help a fan, who had lost her concert T-shirt in Los Angeles wildfires. Meghan had later posted about the singer’s generous gesture of sending a load of merchandise to the victim.
“[Meghan] sharing the Billie Eilish T-shirt merch earlier this year was sweet, but unfortunately, half the internet rolled their eyes,” James stated. “People are either all-in on Meghan or completely against her.”
The added that the polarisation Meghan sees in her following should notify her of what direction to go in.
“She needs to lean into the audience that does support her California progressives, young activists, and people who genuinely admire her philanthropy.”
The comments come as Meghan is still dealing with trademark issues relating to her brand. The Duchess is reportedly failed to sign the trademark application documents for As Ever after being forced to rebrand the project over several trademark setbacks.
The official launch date has not been revealed except stated as ‘Spring 2025’
