Meghan Markle may soon start to ‘win more people over’ thanks to one key reason

One PR expert has stated that Meghan Markle’s popularity could soon be on the rise thanks to one key reason.

Meghan Markle may soon start to “win people over” thanks to one key reason, one PR expert claims.

The 42-year-old has experienced declining popularity in the UK for some time, especially since her departure from the Royal Family four years ago.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the decision to step back as senior working royals in January 2020, with the couple both having launched various attacks on some members of the family ever since.

However, Luana Ribeira – who is the founder of Dauntless PR – believes Meghan’s popularity could soon be on the rise.

“If they feel you’ve put yourself on a pedestal, they’ll want to knock you down but the opposite is also true. When someone attracts a lot of criticism and abuse, the tide of public opinion generally starts to turn in their favour.”

Speaking of Meghan, the expert added: “I think this may well be starting to happen for Meghan Markle.

“As someone so obviously in the public eye, her every move is scrutinised and I think many people will be starting to think she doesn’t deserve the level of vitriol she attracts.”

Despite this, Luana believes this could be gradual and that she won’t be winning any “popularity contests” any time soon.

The expert said: “I don’t think she’ll be coming first in any popularity contests yet but if her biggest crime is attending a film premiere with her husband, she may start to win more people round.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their most-recent public appearance in Jamaica last month.

The couple were in attendance at the film premiere for Bob Marley: One Love on January 23 – and their joint appearance was heavily criticised.

Meghan and Harry were spotted posing alongside the Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his wife on the red carpet.

Mr Holness has been a long standing critic of Jamaica’s relationship with the Commonwealth and formally announced plans for the country to become an independent republic in 2022.

Speaking since the premiere, Mr Holness praised Harry and Meghan’s appearance.

Speaking to Jamaican newspaper The Gleaner, he said: “I was pleased, and I was also very happy to see royals coming to participate in this major event.

“Unsuspecting – little did I know – that I’d be drawn into some internal issues in the United Kingdom. But so it is, more publicity for Jamaica.”
