Mark Consuelos is proud of his wife, co-host, and soon-to-be Disney Legend Kelly Ripa — and is planning to look good while she receives her honor.
On Friday’s installment of Live with Kelly and Mark, Consuelos shared that Ripa would be bestowed the prestigious title this weekend, telling guest host Jenny Mollen that he’s going to the ceremony.
Mollen asked, “What does it feel like being married to a Disney Legend?”
Consuelos replied, “Well, it’s fantastic.”
After name-dropping Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, John Williams, Miley Cyrus, James Cameron, and Jamie Lee Curtis as some of the others being honored at the ceremony, Mollen questioned “what will be required” of Consuelos while he is supporting Ripa at the event, which is taking place at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California.
Well, not speaking,” he quipped.
Mollen asked Consuelos if he has to don “mouse ears” while at the Happiest Place on Earth, which he swiftly denied.
“I’m going to wear a nice suit…. My hair is going to be flowing outside,” he joked, running his hand through his buzz cut.
Later on, Consuelos made sure to take the time to share his pride in Ripa’s accomplishment.
“Kelly, I’m so proud of you,” he gushed. “You are a legend.”
Ripa has been absent all week from Live, with guest hosts Mollen, Live‘s announcer Deja Vu, Jane Krakowski, and Maria Menounos filling in for her at the co-host desk. While the episodes were previously recorded, they showcased brand new content, including an interview with John Stamos, who took a moment to poke fun at Consuelos’ haircut.
“Where’s Kelly? She quit finally because of the haircut?” Stamos joked.
