Mark Consuelos made a cheeky quip about wife Kelly Ripa after she revealed she had been ‘very silent’ on their recent trip to Italy.
During Monday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the TV host, 53, shared that they had headed to Europe so that his spouse, 54, could see her first Campobasso Wolves game as the pair are both investors in the club.
Speaking about their trip, Kelly shared with viewers that she was forced to keep quiet on their vacation because she can’t speak Italian.
She said: ‘In Italy, I become even more silent because I don’t speak Italian.
‘So I am the most silent version of myself that I’ve ever been.’
Mark then admitted that he was a fan of his mute wife, and joked: ‘I kind of liked it. It was really nice.’
‘Your fantasy version of me,’ Kelly responded. ‘Somebody who has no idea what’s going on.’
Mark revealed that because he speaks Italian that he took the helm on their trip and would order food for them every time they dined out.
But Kelly wasn’t best pleased with her husband’s efforts, and branded him the ‘worst translator.’
‘For the record,’ she continued.
‘He is the only one of us that speaks Italian, and therefore, we rely on him to tell us things. So he, in turn, rewards us by not telling us a thing.’
Kelly and Mark have been married for 27 years and share three children; Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21.
The couple first met in 1994 when he was auditioning for the soap opera All My Children, which launched both of their careers.
They eloped to Las Vegas on May 1, 1996, and have been together ever since, welcoming their three children.
Last week, Kelly revealed her struggle to find the right Christmas tree this holiday season as she claimed they all looked more sparse and less full than previous years.
Despite managing to find a beautiful one to adorn with twinkly lights, ornaments and garland, the television host couldn’t help but poke fun at her tree over its more slender size.
‘Behold the lady,’ the talk show host captioned a shot of her lit tree in the center of her living room. ‘Even the trees are skinny this year #treezempic?’
‘Your tree has a beautiful shape! Trim and slim, like its owners,’ one fan commented, while another agreed with Kelly that her tree looked like it was on Ozempic ‘for sure.’
Another quipped: ‘You didn’t have to move any furniture for that tiny tree lol.’
One eagle-eyed commenter noted that the tree did not look as full as the ones Kelly and her husband typically purchase.
‘Wow, that’s not as big as you usually get, but still pretty,’ another observant Instagram user wrote.
