Lana Del Rey was inspired by someone to take the big step and get hitched to her boyfriend
Lana Del Rey got candid about her marriage and the “big reason” why it took so long to happen.
The Young and Beautiful singer revealed that she owed music producer Jack Antonoff for setting the “example” for a happy marriage, which gave her courage to take the leap of faith herself.
“I’m grateful for [Antonoff] for the example he gave me in his marriage to [Margaret Qualley],” she said while presenting the Producer of The Decade Award to Antonoff at Variety’s eighth annual Hitmakers event .
“I saw the way he looked at her when he met her, and he’s a big reason why I waited so long to get married, and why I met my amazing husband,” she gushed.
The 39-year-old artist went on to discuss about the struggles musicians face in finding a perfect partner calling it a “singer’s curse.”
“I feel like there’s a singers’ curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race,” the Cinnamon Girl crooner said.
Del Rey tied the knot with Jeremy Dufrene, whom she first met in 2019, in an intimate wedding on September 26th, 2024.
Elsewhere in her speech, the Summertime Sadness musician brushed over the stresses to stay true to their personal values in an industry “where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up”.
Del Rey’s tenth studio album, The Right Person Will Stay, which appears to be a nod to her love life, is slated to release on May 21, 2025.
