King Charles promises ‘a royal experience’ amid cancer woes

Royal watchers will get the chance to sip like King Charles

Cancer is not stopping King Charles from offering the public a sliver of his lavish lifestyle.

Royal fans now have the chance to sip like royalty after it emerged that a gin infused with botanicals from King Charles’ gardens is now available.

Curated by the Royal Collection Trust, The Palace of Holyroodhouse Dry Gin boasts of mint and lemon thyme picked from the monarch’s Scottish residence’s Physic Garden.

The gin is steeped with the botanicals for 24 hours before it is distilled and combined with juniper to forge a flavourful gin with citrus notes.

What makes it special is that the garden, which reopened in 2020, was known to be a cultivating hub of medicinal and culinary botanicals.

Founded by Sir Robert Sibbald and Sir Andrew Balfour, two Scottish physicians, in 1670, the grounds were used to cultivate herbs and other botanicals for students learning the benefits of plants.

The packaging also honours Scottish roots as the floral design on the bottle label were from the 17th textile.
