Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Teases Major Switch Up for ‘LIVE with Kelly and Mark’

Kelly Ripa teased a major change coming to LIVE with Kelly and Mark during an episode of the show that aired earlier this week, though the talk show host isn’t convinced that it’ll actually happen.

Ripa, 54, was chatting with her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, shortly after their episode began taping on Tuesday, Oct. 1, when she mentioned the anticipated change. As the mother of three explained to the show’s live audience, she and Consuelos recently traveled from New York City’s Upper East Side, where they now live, to another of the city’s neighborhoods known as SoHo, or south of Houston Street. They made the trip across town “to tour the new studios, because our show is finally moving to a new location,” Ripa said.

The show’s move is “not going to happen for some time,” Ripa clarified before adding, “I still don’t believe it’s going to happen.”

Consuelos, 53, noted that the studio in which they were taping Tuesday’s show had already been sold as he assured his wife, “No, no, it’s happening.”

But Ripa continued expressing doubt about the move, declaring that their show’s current studio was sold long ago. “I don’t believe it’s happening,” she reiterated.

As the couple’s conversation continued, Ripa noted that the studio’s new anticipated location would have been ideal for herself and Mark back when they’d lived in the area. “Allegedly, we’re moving downtown to this fancy schmancy state-of-the-art studio in SoHo,” she said. “SoHo, where we used to live, and this would have been convenient for us. But as soon as we move to the Upper East Side, now we want to move to SoHo. OK, whatever,” she concluded as audience members began to laugh.

Later during the show, Ripa suggested that she and her husband might start taking the New York City subway “every day when we start working in SoHo.” When exactly that’ll happen remains unclear, as the hosts did not provide a specific date for their official studio move.
