Kate Hudson married Chris Robinson, then 34, when she was only 21
Kate Hudson spoke out about her experience of getting married at an early age during a recent interview.
The 45-year-old actress shared her stance on romantic relationships as she continues to bask in the success of her recently released debut album Glorious.
Hudson, who appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast to promote her upcoming album on Wednesday, May 22, reflected on her first marriage to Chris Robinson at 21, describing it as her “first real love.”
Responding to a question about getting married at an early age, the Bride Wars’ alum revealed that she was just eighteen when she first crossed paths with Robinson, then 34.
Despite clarifying that marrying him was “not a mistake,” Hudson hinted at the experience as being “unhealthy”.
She said: “I look back at my entire life at this point and I actually feel like I might have gotten it right, you know? There’s this sort of construct that we’re supposed to do it a certain way, which I understand because I really believe in the unit, and I think it’s what’s missing right now.”
The actress continued: “But I do believe that a unit can exist differently than this sort of, like, very kind of religious concept of marriage and male-female relationship.”
Hudson further emphasized the importance of healthy relationships, noting: “For me, having the means and the ability to choose to be more healthy in relationships means that it’s easy; it’s kind of been easier for me to exit unhealthy relationships.”
For the unversed, Hudson revealed her future plans to get married to fiancé Danny Fujikawa earlier this month.
On professional front, the singer released her latest album Glorious on May, 17.
