‘The Bear’ actor Jeremy Allen White is confirmed to join Pedro Pascal in the highly-anticipated big-screen adaptation of ‘Star Wars’ popular television series ‘The Mandalorian’.
In a galaxy not so far away, “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White is stepping into an intergalactic role that will surprise and delight “Star Wars” fans. Deadline has confirmed that White will be taking on the character of Rotta the Hutt, Jabba the Hutt’s son, in the highly-anticipated “The Mandalorian and Grogu” movie set for release in 2026.
The announcement of White’s casting has generated significant buzz, given his remarkable performance in FX’s “The Bear”, which earned him back-to-back Emmy wins and his third Golden Globe nomination.
This is not just a cameo; White will have a substantial role, potentially providing the voice for the animated Hutt. This marks a noteworthy addition to the expanding roster of Jabba the Hutt’s relatives featured across “Star Wars” media, like “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Phantom Menace”.
Directed by Jon Favreau, who also co-wrote the movie with Dave Filoni, the “Mandalorian & Grogu” film is already promising an epic space adventure. Returning star Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin, the aforementioned Mandalorian, while acclaimed “Ghostbusters” actress Sigourney Weaver is among the new additions. The movie will be the first feature-length adaptation of a Disney+ series.
Fans got a sneak peek during the D23 Expo in Anaheim when Favreau and Filoni unveiled some tantalizing footage. Alongside the nostalgic return of Babu Frick, the footage displayed a snowy planet that looked strikingly similar to Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back, complete with massive AT-ATs, the four-legged armored machines that are synonymous with the Star Wars villain arsenal.
Additionally, the film will feature the familiar character Zeb, a red, pointy-eared alien from the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels”. This blend of classic and new characters is setting up for a well-rounded and immersive “Star Wars” experience.
While Lucasfilm remains tight-lipped about further details, the news has fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting more information. The “Mandalorian & Grogu” movie is shaping up to be a cinematic event that young audiences, in particular, won’t want to miss. Set your calendars for May 22, 2026, because this is one “Star Wars” adventure that’s going to be out of this world
