Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult reunite 20 years after ‘About a Boy’

The 2002 comedy drama say Hugh Grant’s character unexpectedly bonding with Hoult’s pre-teen character

Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult brought back major About a Boy nostalgia with a sweet reunion over two decades after the film’s release.

The pair attended the 15th Governors Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, where they posed for a photo that Grant later shared on social media, playfully comparing it to a still from their 2002 rom-com.

Grant, now 64, starred as the charming yet self-centredd Will, who unexpectedly bonds with Hoult’s awkward preteen character, Marcus. Reflecting on their reunion, Hoult, who was only 12 years old when the film was released, humorously responded to Grant’s X post, saying, “We’re cute.”

Hoult took the laughs further on Instagram, posting their updated photo alongside the original movie still. “Swipe to see a horrible reunion I’ve been avoiding,” the Warm Bodies actor joked, before admitting, “He’s very funny.”

The reunion wasn’t the only highlight of the evening for Grant, who honoured his longtime collaborator Richard Curtis with a heartfelt yet humour-laced speech. Curtis, known for British classics like Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral, helped cement Grant as a rom-com icon.
