Prince Harry lost his legal battle for security detail in UK for himself, Meghan Markle and their two children
Prince Harry lost his high-profile High Court challenge over his UK security on Wednesday.
The Duke of Sussex had lost security detail for his family and himself after he stepped down from his royal duties alongside wife Meghan Markle.
The Sussexes had then moved to America for a quieter lifestyle after they were hounded by British press. King Charles’ younger son had been furious to find out that his security had been taken away when his disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew, still had his.
At the time, a furious Harry had demanded Sir Mark Sedwill, the then cabinet secretary, to disclose the name of the person responsible for stripping off of his security.
In a letter sent to Sir Mark on Feb 10 2020, he asked who would put him in “a position that no one was willing to put my mother in 23 years ago,” via The Telegraph.
He added, “And yet today, with greater risk… with the additional layers of racism and extremism, someone is comfortable taking accountability for what could happen. I would like that person’s name who is willing to take accountability for this choice please.”
And now, four years and a lengthy court battle later, nothing concerning the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s security arrangements has changed.
