Warner Bros. has made several adjustments to its release calendar, including new dates for ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines,’ ‘Animal Friends,’ and ‘Flowervale Street.’
Warner Bros. has announced significant changes to its upcoming film release schedule. The studio has landed the much-anticipated “Final Destination: Bloodlines” for a prime summer slot on May 16, 2025 while delaying the high-profile “Flowervale Street,” written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, by nearly a year to March 13, 2026.
Additionally, the live-action/animated hybrid “Animal Friends” has been pushed from its original August 2025 release to October 10, 2025, bumping it squarely into the fall corridor.
“Final Destination: Bloodlines,” directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, marks the return of the iconic horror franchise after 14 years. Known for its Rube Goldberg-style death sequences, the film stars Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Max Lloyd Jones, and Owen Patrick Joyner.
It promises to continue the series’ dark and thrilling legacy and will be showcased on IMAX screens. As the only major studio release on May 16, 2025, “Final Destination: Bloodlines” has room to dominate the summer box office.
Meanwhile, “Flowervale Street,” Mitchell’s first film since 2018’s “Under the Silver Lake,” has been described as a “1980’s-set dinosaur movie.” The star-studded cast includes Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and P.J. Byrne, with J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company producing.
Pushing its release to March 13, 2026, places it alongside other potential blockbusters in a traditionally strategic mid-March window that has seen successes like “The Batman” and “Dune: Part Two.”
On the lighter side of Warner Bros.’ slate, “Animal Friends” features an all-star cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, and Dan Levy. Directed by Peter Atencio, the film is described as a road trip comedy and enters the competitive fall season prime for R-rated hits like “Jackass” and “Zombieland.” Initially set for an August release by Sony, its new October 10, 2025, date places it in direct competition with Disney’s “Tron: Ares.”
Warner Bros.’ strategic reshuffling highlights the studio’s confidence in its upcoming projects. By capitalizing on historically successful release windows, the company aims to maximize each film’s potential for box office success. Whether you’re a fan of horror franchises, mysterious thrillers, or comedy road trips, this revised lineup offers something exciting for everyone.
