Drew Barrymore recently opened up about her dating life in a conversation with Dua Lipa
Drew Barrymore recently confessed to Dua Lipa that she’s “so incredibly happy” being single and apparently doesn’t need a man.
The Radical Optimism singer joined The Drew Barrymore Show host in the auditorium of Talent Unlimited High School in New York City, deriving the inspiration behind her new song Training Season.
Barrymore spilled beans on resonating with the song, admitting: “I feel like I’m on that tipping point as well.”
“I have continually throughout my life made it about the other person. I’ve also spent many, many years being single and I have been so incredibly happy. I’ve made finally an investment in myself the way I have invested in others my whole life,” she added.
This came after Lipa claimed, “‘Training Season’ is — this is me in my singledom. I went on a couple of dates. All terrible.”
In addition, the star went onto explain her take on discussing the “low-down” on her dating life with friends.
Giving her friends a flavour of dating blues, the Break My Heart alum recalled: “I just go, ‘Guys. Training season is over. I’m done training up these boys. No more!’”
“What started off as a joke turned into a lyric which then blossomed into a song. And then we have ‘Training Season,’ which was almost a manifestation.”
Lipa also admitted that she didn’t want to jinx it, explaining: “Because I believe that the words that I write — I have to be careful what I write because sometimes I feel like they can come true. Because they become a mantra.”
