Buckingham palace drops new bombshell as Meghan Markle’s Husband heads to UK

Royal family shares new post with major announcement

King Charles’ office makes major announcement

King Charles III’s office has made a major announcement ahead of the first anniversary of the monarch’s Coronation as Prince Harry prepares to return to the UK.

Buckingham palace has announced that King Charles, Queen Camilla and other senior royals are to relinquish patronages of almost 200 charities and organizations after a review of their association with more than 1,000 groups.

The royal family’s social media accounts shared the news on Saturday, just days before Harry’s possible meeting with his dad as he is set to return to Britain to attend the Invictus Games event on May 8.

The statement reads: “Following His Majesty’s Accession in September 2022, a detailed review of Patronages and Presidencies has been undertaken.”

The statement continues: “To mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation, the conclusions will be shared with relevant organisations in the coming week.”

It adds: “The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family lend their names and much of their time to many different charities and organisations. Currently, over 1,000 organisations have a member of the Royal Family as their patron or president.”

The post attracted massive reactions from royal fans and followers, with one writing in the comments section: “How wonderful, I always enjoy when history is incorporated into the present. Congratulations to Their Majesties’ on the first anniversary of their coronation and to the 1000+ organizations that have a member of The Royal Family as a patron or president!”

The late queen was patron of 492 organisations, while Charles was affiliated to 441 and Camilla 100. Following the assessment, just over 830 have been retained by the King and Queen, or passed to other members of the royal family.

Among those that will retain their royal connection include the Royal British Legion, the largest armed forces charity, the Dogs Trust, the Jockey Club and the Wildlife Trusts, a grassroots nature organisation.
