The 41-Year-Old Pop Star Gets Things Off Her Chest While Sharing A Screenshot Of A 2021 Quote Said By Lady GaGa’s Manager, Bobby Campbell, When Weighing In On Netflix’s ‘Britney Vs Spears’.
Britney Spears has lashed out at those producing unauthorized documentaries about her. In her lengthy rant, the “Toxic” hitmaker called out filmmakers who “exploited” her 13-year abusive conservatorship.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, November 20, the 41-year-old shared a screenshot of a 2021 quote said by Lady GaGa‘s manager, Bobby Campbell, when weighing in on Netflix’s “Britney vs Spears“. He said at the time, “There needs to be transparency about how or whether the filmmakers are profiting from this doc.
“Or if they are donating their fees to Britney’s legal defense, or to legal defense funds to aide those who do not have the financial resources to fight against undue conservatorships,” Bobby added. “Even if it is in support of freeing Britney, this appears that it could be exploitative.”
In her caption, Britney argued, “Interesting. The last sentence !!! Would it matter if I wasn’t ok with it ??? JUST SAYING !!!!” She continued, “Hmmm defense in funding those who do not have financial resources to fight against conservatorships ??? Or for people to manipulate the system showing hour long documentaries showing my hardest times 3 years ago proclaiming I’m supposed to benefit from THAT !!!”
“BULLS**T !!! Is it all regulated in talking s**t ??? Come on duals and most arguments are always calculated through 2 sides !!!” the pop star went on fuming. “The bottom line is intention !!! What angle were they coming at ??? Was it to demonstrate support … understanding … love ??? Why no !!! None of these !!! It was to offend and offend only !!!”
“Britney vs Spears” was not the only documentary made for the singer. In March 2021, “Framing Britney Spears” documentary debuted on rival streaming site Hulu and the mom of two declared that she was “embarrassed by the light they put me in” and that she “cried for two weeks” after watching part of the film, which examined the sensationalistic tabloid coverage of her 2008 public meltdown.
