Anne Hathaway shares insights on romance film ahead of SXSW premiere
At the premiere of the highly anticipated film The Idea of You at SXSW, Anne Hathaway, shared insights into her connection with her character, Soléne, in the adaptation of Robinne Lee’s novel.
Hathaway revealed that she and Soléne both perceive themselves as “adventurous” in matters of love, reflecting on the significance of portraying such a character.

Hathaway elaborated, “In the beginning of the film, the character…she’s really scared of going on that adventure because she’s had such a rough experience with her ex-husband.
And so to me, I was incredibly moved by the opportunity to tell the story of a woman blooming.”
Reflecting on the narrative of The Idea of You, expressed her desire for more stories depicting personal growth and empowerment at any stage of life.
She remarked, “I don’t know why we don’t have more stories about human beings blooming at any age. We’re always coming of age, all the time.”
