Taylor Swift becomes Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally in 2023. Spotify has announced its annual Wrapped campaign for the past year and the “Anti-Hero” hitmaker has overtaken Bad Bunny to take the title, bringing an end to three years of dominance for the Puerto Rican rapper.

Surpassing 26.1 billion streams worldwide since the start of the year, Taylor was the most-streamed artist in the US and the UK. Along with Bad Bunny, the 33-year-old pop star was ahead of The Weeknd, Drake, and Peso Pluma who made up the rest of the most-streamed artists globally.

To celebrate Swift’s achievement, Spotify unveiled 21 puzzle pieces on billboards around the globe, including Sao Paulo and Jakarta, teasing her accomplishment in the 48-hour lead-up to Wrapped’s launch.

Now, when fans stream her music on the platform, the progress bar will change colours to reflect the corresponding era colour and the progress button will turn into a sparkle. Users who are in the top percentage of listeners of her songs will receive a special thank you m video message from Taylor.

The most-streamed song of 2023 is Miley Cyrus’ hit single “Flowers” which recorded 1.6 billion listens while SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” were in second and third place. Bad Bunny, 29, did have the most-streamed album globally in 2023 with “Un Verano Sin Ti” with 4.5 billion total streams followed by Taylor’s “Midnights” at number two.
