Serena Williams’ Fans Show Support For Her After She Admits She’s ‘Not Okay’ In New Post

The 23-Time Grand Slam Tennis Pro, Who Previously Got Candid About Her Mental Health, Receives Words Of Encouragement From Many Social Users After Admitting That She Was Not Okay.

Serena Williams has found support from fans after getting candid about her mental health. The 23-time grand slam tennis pro received words of encouragement from many social users after admitting that she was not okay.

“I am not ok today. And that’s ok to not be ok. No one is ok every single day,” the 42-year-old penned on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, November 28. “If you are not ok today I’m with you. There’s always tomorrow. Love you.”

The post has since been flooded with supportive comments from her followers. One in particular replied, “Truth. Hope you get back to being OK again soon champ.” Another added, “Please take care. Sending you love & hugs.”

A third chimed in, “I am with you. Praying for you to be okay as soon as possible and to enjoy this beautiful gift of a day we have been given and your beautiful family.” Someone else noted, “I hope you feel better Serena.”

When speaking to Selena Gomez last year, Serena divulged that she had spent years trying to protect herself by allocating herself periods of time when she could switch off and recharge. “Mental fitness for me is just really learn[ing] to shut down,” the athlete said. “And you know I did this years ago, before even mental health was a topic among everyone’s mind.”

“It was more just like, alright, I’m shutting myself down today. Just subconsciously, it was something I’ve always done,” the mom of two continued. “And so now that I know that it’s so important to just put yourself first, especially mentally, I always have shut down moments. I have serious boundaries and I don’t let anyone cross those boundaries.”

“For me, it’s so important to make sure, every day, I have a period of, like … it’s so bad, because I really don’t do anything for me, I’m terrible at that! And I’ve said it time and time again – I’m working on it. But more or less, at least prioritizing what I need to do,” Serena further elaborated. “And then when I’m turned off, I’m turned off.
