The ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ star attended John Kander’s afterparty in New York City on Monday, May 19
Jennifer Lopez is getting loud with her sense of style!
The multi-hyphenate, 55, attended birthday celebrations to mark John Kander’s 98th birthday at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Monday, May 19. Having starred in Kiss of the Spider Woman — composed by Kander — Lopez was among those to perform a tribute.
The “Let’s Get Loud” vocalist shared photos of herself arriving at the event on Instagram with a lipstick mark and a spider emoji in the caption. One snap showed her adjusting her glossy brunette hair while smiling at onlookers; in another, she strutted outside the venue.
Lopez’s stylist, Mariel Haenn, also shared photos of the “Get Right” singer on Instagram, revealing her plunging gown and eye-catching fur shrug were designs from The New Arrivals By Ilkyaz Ozel.

The look was completed with an embellished clutch purse, heeled sandals and dramatic eye makeup.
“John Kander at Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration” was a one-night-only benefit concert featuring performances from Alan Cumming, Whoopi Goldberg, Kelli O’Hara, and Jinkx Monsoon, per Charity Buzz.
Roundabout Theatre Company showed Kander clapping in gratitude in a clip from the event shared on their Instagram.
Lopez overhauled her appearance before attending the invite-only afterparty at Bryant Park Grill in New York City. She arrived at the event in a floor-length white gown from Stephane Rolland’s fall 2023 collection.
Having styled her hair in a sleek top knot, her diamond hoop earrings were on full display and perfectly coordinated with her sparkly purse and heeled sandals.
The outing comes after the “Waiting For Tonight” singer was injured while rehearsing for the upcoming 2025 American Music Awards. In a series of Instagram posts earlier this month, she revealed that the facial wound she sustained required treatment from Dr. Diamond.
“A week later and a whole lotta ice and I’m good as new,” Lopez shared in an update on her Instagram Stories.
The mother-of-two is scheduled to host the 2025 American Music Awards at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas on May 26, ten years after she last hosted in 2015
