The singer-actress will host the ceremony for the second time, and is also among the list of artists who will perform on the night.
Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for a busy few months with several projects in the pipeline – producing and appearing in a number of new Netflix series and heading out on tour for the first time in six years. But before all of that, she has been invited to host the upcoming American Music Awards which take place in Las Vegas at the end of the month.
It will be the second time that JLo has hosted the event – she MCed the 2015 ceremony, a night on which Taylor Swift emerged as the big winner, taking home three awards.

JLo take a knock in rehearsals
Jennifer will also be one of the 16 artists who will perform on stage at the Fontainebleau – despite suffering a shock during rehearsals a couple of weeks ago. She sustained bruising and a cut nose and later posted a photo of herself holding an ice pack to her eye to reduce the swelling. “So this happened…” she explained on Instagram. “
Lopez reassured fans that she was recovering well is focused on delivering a spectacular show at the AMAs.
Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with 10, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for GNX, and Song of the Year for Not Like Us.
Post Malone is just behind with eight nominations – he’s up for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (F-1 Trillion) and Song of the Year (I Had Some Help). Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, SZA and Sabrina Carpenter also have multiple nominations. And props to Janet Jackson who will become the third artist to receive the coveted ICON award

Lopez’s own career and achievements have also been recognized over the years – she has received seven AMA nominations and picked up three awards: Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist (2003) and Favorite Latin Artist (2007 and 2011).

The 51st American Music Awards will be held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Monday May 26, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. ET. / 5 p.m. PT. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS, and available to stream on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
