Taylor Swift made Gracie Abrams realise this truth about herself
Gracie Abrams opened many of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows and she has had a couple of realisations while looking back on her experience.
The 25-year-old singer revealed that seeing Swift’s massive fandom gather in the audience taught her to be grateful about not having this “extreme” level of fame.
“It’s like, I really don’t have it that bad in terms of invasion of privacy, you know what I mean? I feel like I learned a lot from her, obviously, but one of the things that I’ve felt lucky to observe is how extreme it can be [for her]. It helps right-size my own s—t,” the That’s So True hitmaker told Billboard in an interview.
When asked if her songwriting, which touches upon personal themes, might have a chance to be affected by her rising fame, she said, “That would be so unfortunate.”
Abrams also gushed about the 14-time-Grammy winner and her talent to interact with huge crowds while performing in stadiums and shared that she would like to play in stadiums someday.
“I could have never imagined myself admitting to that. I think having had the privilege of opening for Taylor in the stadiums that we played, to now have a visual reference and a real sense of what it feels like to be on a stage in that environment… It’s something that I miss and desperately hope to earn over time.”
