She still co-owns a $68 million Beverly Hills estate with her ex.
Two months after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is continuing to put her former marriage behind her with a major real estate move. The multi-hyphenate is leaving the $68 million Beverly Hills home she previously purchased with Affleck and moving into a luxurious new California residence, People reports.
Citing property records, the publication revealed that Lopez has bought an $18 million mansion in the Los Angeles area. The “On the Floor” singer and Affleck—who finalized their divorce on January 6—still co-own their Beverly Hills home, which is still for sale after they publicly put it on the market last July.
While People didn’t share any details about Lopez’s new house, she’s been quietly searching for a new property to call home since last April, which is when her divorce filing says she separated from Affleck. Lopez didn’t confirm that the former couple’s marriage was on the rocks until she officially filed for divorce on August 20—what would have been their wedding anniversary—but sources told People that Lopez and Affleck were shopping their shared $68 million mansion off-market as early as June.
A source reported that a “truly exceptional” Beverly Hills mansion that was described as an “ideal setting for those seeking seclusion” caught Lopez’s eye when she was house hunting last spring. However, it sounds like she ultimately went with a different property—possibly one of the many off-market homes she was touring.
It sounds like Lopez is eager to leave her and Affleck’s shared home as she was reportedly never a fan of the 38,000-square foot property. “The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her,” a source previously told People. “She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances.”
The actress’s newest purchase isn’t the only real estate adjustment she’s made in the past year. Lopez also sold her New York City penthouse for $23 million on her birthday, July 24—which happens to be the same day that Affleck closed on a new $20.5 million home in Los Angeles.
TMZ reported at the time that Affleck’s new Pacific Palisades pad boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a guesthouse, making it ideal for hosting friends as well as his kids. Violet, 19, Finn, 16, and Samuel, 13, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
