Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell joke about his ‘sexiest man alive’ snub
Reese Witherspoon once again slayed the red carpet appearance.
The actress showed up for a screening of her most recent comedy, You’re Cordially Invited, which costarred Will Ferrell, at Jazz at Lincoln Centre in New York City on Tuesday, January 28.
At the star-studded event, which featured a man costumed as an alligator, the actress wore a black wool flounce jacket and skirt by Louis Vuitton with gold accents on the buttons and zipper.
Witherspoon’s ensemble included a black miniskirt and a long-sleeved peplum jacket. The two tiers of ruffles on the bottom part matched her top’s design exactly.
With a pair of black, closed-toe shoes, the actress and producer maintained a traditional, stylish style.
She looked perfectly refreshed thanks to her voluminous hair falling at her shoulders and the Legally Blonde alum’s use of gentle, pink makeup colours.
Witherspoon and Ferrell, 57, couldn’t help but joke about the Elf star’s exclusion from the Sexiest Man Alive competition while speaking exclusively to People magazine on the red carpet.
There isn’t another contender for the 2025 contest, Witherspoon told the outlet.
“Because I mean, who else would it be?” the actress said. “I can’t think of anybody.”
“I think last year the idea was, kind of, floated out there,” Ferrell continued. “People were slightly indoctrinated to it. Now let’s go people, pull the trigger!”
Witherspoon portrays Margot, a bride’s sister, in You’re Cordially Invited, while the Anchorman star portrays Jim, a different bride’s father.
On January 30, You’re Cordially Invited will be available on Prime Video.
