Kelly Ripa labels husband Mark Consuelos a ‘liar’ during candid discussion about their home life

Kelly Ripa has labelled husband Mark Consuelos a ‘dirty liar’ after he denied her accusation that he reads her personal journal.

The Live! with Kelly and Mark hosts were having a typically candid conversation on Wednesday’s show when the former soap actress called out her co-host for taking a peek at her private musings.

The conversation began when Mark, 53, pointed out that his wife, 54, had left her journal ‘out by your bed stand once or twice.’

Kelly immediately asked if the actor had ever taken a look, which he expressed denied.

His wife wasn’t convinced as she responded: ‘You’re a liar… You are a dirty liar.’

However, Mark maintained his innocence as he explained: ‘I don’t want to know, I just want my reality to be my reality.’

Kelly then seemed to hint that he would only find favorable comments as she replied: ‘What I think about you is fascinating… I think you would like it.’

The playful banter between the pair is nothing new to fans of the couple, who have been together since they met while filming All My Children in 1994.

The pair eloped in 1996 and will celebrate 29 years of marriage this year, after raising their children Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21.

Just the day before, the couple’s former co-star Susan Lucci – who played the role of Erica Kane on All My Children for the show’s entire 41-year run – opened up about witnessing the couple’s instant chemistry.

Speaking to Andy Cohen onstage at New York’s 92nd Street Y for an event commemorating the 55th anniversary of the All My Children’s premiere, she said: ‘I just have to say something about Mark and Kelly.’

According to People, she then divulged the way she responded to the audition as she added: ‘I was happy to be in the hair and makeup room watching their audition scenes, and we were all like: “Oh, get a room!”‘

She then directly addressed Kelly, who was sitting onstage next to her: ‘The chemistry between you two was coming right through the screen.’

All My Children launched both of Kelly and Mark’s careers, as well as bringing them together personally and setting the stage for their marriage.

Mark maintained his innocence as he explained: 'I don't want to know, I just want my reality to be my reality'

They eloped in Las Vegas on May Day 1966 but did not tell even their colleagues about their romance until three months after the wedding.

Kelly has explained that she and Mark were so secretive ‘because we worked together and we didn’t want it to be perceived that somehow we couldn’t work together.’

Their coworkers and fans only found out they were an item when Wendy Williams – who was then a radio shock jock – broke the news of their wedding on the air.

Just the day before, the star joined other All My Children alum where they discussed her instant chemistry with her husband and former co-star on the popular soap

Over the decades, their work took them in separate directions, as she became one of the biggest morning hosts in America and he acted on such series as Riverdale.

In 2023, even their careers converged once again, with Mark becoming the latest in a string of co-hosts to star on Live! with Kelly.
