The 25-year-old influencer appears close to tears after gathering together her belongings from the London property, which is believed to be owned by the former One Direction member.
Kate Cassidy packed things up and moved out of Liam Payne’s home after saying a final farewell to the singer. The influencer was seen leaving a London apartment they shared roughly two weeks after her boyfriend was laid to rest.
Daily Mail reported on Wednesday, December 4 that the model appeared close to tears after gathering together her belongings from the property close to the banks of the River Thames in south east London, where she had been living in the aftermath of Liam’s tragic passing. “A forlorn-looking Kate stood in the street surrounded by her possessions after vacating the modern high rise apartment which is believed to have been owned by he late partner,” the outlet said.
At one point, the American model reportedly was spotted holding on tightly to a cuddly toy, a colorful squishmallow which was too big to pack into her luggage. She seemingly treasured the memento from her time together with her late boyfriend.
Kate was joined by a friend who helped her load stacks of boxes and suitcases into a rented van before heading off to an unknown destination. Neighbors said Kate would be relying on the generosity of friends to put her up as she prepares to fly back to the U.S. to spend Christmas with her family.
Kate had been traveling with Liam to Argentina in the weeks leading to his sudden passing. She, however, had returned to the U.S. before the former One Direction member plunged to his death from the balcony of his third-floor hotel suite in Buenos Aires on October 16.
The day after the tragedy, Kate flew to the U.K. She was seen among mourners at the funeral, which was held on November 20 at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. She arrived with her friend Damian Hurley.
Kate reportedly only met Liam’s parents, Geoff and Karen, for the first time at the funeral service. Liam’s former bandmates, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, Simon Cowell, Liam’s ex Cheryl Cole, James Corden and Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud also attended the funeral.
