‘Live! With Kelly and Mark’ is conjuring up several surprise looks ahead of this year’s Halloween special.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are taking Halloween very seriously this fall.
The couple-turned-co-hosts always go all-out for the holidays, but this year is a little different as their show is preparing for not one but two big shakeups.
While it could take some all year to prepare a single Halloween costume, the Live! With Kelly & Mark stars somehow managed to put together over three dozen–all of which they plan to wear on Thursday, Oct. 31.
This week, the couple has teased a few of their ideas, even posing for pictures as Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars in the singers’ “Die With a Smile” music video inspired by Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner’s performance fashion for an Oct. 29 interview published by People. According to the outlet, these are just “two of a whopping 40 pop culture-inspired costumes the pair will wear for the annual celebration of the spooky season holiday.”
While this year’s Halloween special is Only Murders in the Building-themed, Ripa and Consuelos previously revealed a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-inspired costume.
The actress also recalled how she has previously dressed as the “Bad Romance” songstress “at least five times” while talking about preparing for this year’s over-the-top performance, so it’s probably safe to say no pop culture reference is off-limits for the show (or the couple’s spooky after hours plans).
How the TV personalities managed to conjure up 40 costume ideas, all while preparing for future shows, as well as two major transitions, can probably be credited to a little creative magic (and maybe some help from family, friends, and the ABC staff).
As Parade previously reported, the morning talk show is heading to the West Coast in just a few weeks for a special on-location series at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf and Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.
Not only that, but this is expected to be Ripa and Consuelos’ last-ever Halloween at Live!’s current location, as come the 2025 festivities, producers of the show hope to be filming in their new studio in SoHo.
