Mamie Laverock, known for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan in When Calls the Heart, is battling for her life following a tragic fall from a fifth-floor balcony walkway.

People reported on Tuesday, May 28, that Laverock was initially admitted to a Winnipeg hospital due to “medical emergency,” as detailed in a GoFundMe campaign created by her family.

Her parents, Rob and Nicole, mentioned that the 19-year-old actress was transferred to a Vancouver hospital, where she was “showing signs of improvement.” However, a recent update revealed the unfortunate incident.

The parents explained, “[Laverock] was escorted out of a secure unit if the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.”

“She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” they stated, adding, “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”

As of May 28, the family’s GoFundMe campaign for the actress in critical condition had raised over 11,000 CAD.

Additionally, Laverock’s first professional role was in the 2012 film This Means War, featuring Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy, and Chris Pine. This debut role helped her secure more acting projects.
