Jada Pinkett Smith and Britney Spears released their memoirs ‘Worthy’ and ‘The Woman In Me’ respectively, just a week apart from each other
Jada Pinkett Smith is thrilled to have Britney Spears on the “bada*s women memoir club.”
Pinkett Smith, 52, congratulated the Princess of Pop on the release day of her memoir, The Woman In Me, in a throwback video of them from Spears’ 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour.
Having recently released her own bombshell memoir, Worthy, just a few weeks ago, Smith expressed in the Instagram reel posted on Tuesday that she “can’t wait to read [Spears’] book.”
“Welcome to the ‘Bad A*s Women Memoir Club,’” she captioned the post, tagging Spears.
Smith, who founded the band Wicked Wisdom in 2002 and provides the lead vocals, then recalled how she landed a spot on Spears’ highly successful Onyx Hotel Tour, debuting Wicked Wisdom’s first album, My Story.
“[Spears] welcomed me to open for her on the Onyx tour with my band Wicked Wisdom with open arms. She was so sweet and supportive,” the Red Table Talk hostess gushed.
Excited about “being back on a different page, sharing our journeys on the page,” Smith further expressed, “I can’t WAIT to read your book Britney and I’m sending you love on your pub day … congrats [red heart emoji].”
The accompanying video appeared to be from a skit by the two musicians on the Onyx Tour.
Smith’s well wishes come in the midst of her own tell-all memoir Worthy making headlines, most notably the revelation that she and husband Will Smith have secretly been separated since 2016.
Interestingly, both Smith and Spears’ respective memoirs delve into mental health struggles, death and loss, and other accounts of growing up in the spotlight.
