Zayn Malik hints at heartbreaking truth about ex Gigi Hadid, daughter Khai

Zayn Malik pours his heart out about lingering feelings for a former love in new song

Zayn Malik appeared to have poured bits of his heart in his new song about his on-and-off ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid and their daughter Khai.

The former One Direction singer, who released his fourth solo studio album, Room Under the Stairs, may have featured a nod to Hadid and Khai in the song titled, Shoot At Will

When the track dropped on Friday, fans were quick to note that certain lyrics alluded to a strained past relationship.

“When I look at her, all I see is you / When you look at her, do you see me too?” Malik sings in the first verse, seemingly referencing Hadid, 29, and Khai, 3.

One fan on X, formerly Twitter noted that this may have been a way for Malik to get closure on his abrupt end to a six-year relationship in 2021, just a month after the couple welcomed their first child, via Us Weekly.

“Zayn’s closure in regards to that relationship,” adding, “We experienced everything that happened the past few years from his pov.”

The pair split for good in 2021 following an incident with Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid. Malik pleaded no contest to the charges and was ordered to serve a 360-day probation and complete anger management and domestic violence programs.

The song lyrics also allude to lingering feelings.

“Does it not occur to you? / Do you not prefer the truth? / I was in love with you / Though I didn’t show the proof.”

The singer has not yet confirmed the theory.
