Harry also alleged members of Kensington Palace had then “lied to protect my brother”
Meghan Markle did not hold back when confronted with “concerns” during her time in the Royal Family, according to a royal author.
The Duchess of Sussex joined the Royal Family when she began dating Prince Harry, but tensions quickly arose. Meghan was accused of shouting at staff during her tenure, with author Robert Lacey alleging she “governed by fear” in his revealing book Battle of the Brothers.
The author also claimed that Prince William was worried Meghan was “stealing his beloved brother away” and was “very concerned” upon learning about her alleged treatment of staff.
In response, Meghan is said to have given a blunt seven-word reply.
“It’s not my job to coddle people,” Meghan said, according to Robert’s book. While Meghan was hit with bullying allegations during her time in the Royal Family, her close friends and family insisted they were false and didn’t align with the “kind” person they know.
A friend also told Bazaar Meghan was upset by the accusations. They said: “I hate to say it, but find me a woman of colour in a senior position who has not been accused of being too angry, too scary… in the work place.”
A spokesperson for Meghan also vehemently denied the allegations. They said at the time: “Let’s just call this what it is – a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation. We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal of the Duchess of Sussex.”
The statement continued: “It’s no coincidence that distorted several-year-old accusations aimed at undermining the duchess are being briefed to the British media shortly before she and the duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experience of recent years.”
Meghan and Harry stepped down from the Royal Family back in 2020 before moving to Montecito, California. They’ve since developed an incredibly tense relationship with The Firm and have made a number of bombshell accusations about various members of the Royal Family.
In their bombshell Netflix docuseries, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and claimed he left him terrified after he screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit.
Harry also alleged members of Kensington Palace had then “lied to protect my brother”. He then further hit out at his family in his memoir, Spare.
