Taylor Swift shares news about her first track from Tortured Poets Department album on social media

Taylor Swift has recently announced that Fortnight with Post Malone will be the first single off her new album The Tortured Poets Department.

On Thursday, Swift took to Instagram and posted a cover from her new album featuring Post Malone and herself.

“The first single from The Tortured Poets Department is…………. Fortnight featuring @postmalone,” she began.

Gushing over Post Malone, Taylor wrote in the caption, “I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever.”

“I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight,” said the songstress.

In the end, Taylor added, “Honestly can’t wait for you guys to hear this song at Midnight TONIGHT and see the video at 8pm ET TOMORROW.”

Soon, the post garnered more than two million likes in an hour.

To note, Fortnight is reportedly the first track on Tortured Poets, and only one of two songs to feature another artist; the song Florida!!! featured Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine,” via PEOPLE.

Taylor also opened up that the major theme of her upcoming album would be “heartbreak” as she shared five playlists with Apple Music.

Earlier, the songstress first revealed about her album in February during her acceptance speech for best pop vocal album at the Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s Tortured Poets Department will be released on April 19.
