Britney Spears ‘still reeling’ from Justin Timberlake’s insult to her apology

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were ‘moving forward’ but that was ruined after he mocked her

Britney Spears is still not over the unsavoury dig ex Justin Timberlake made about their past ups and downs he made last month.

Before Timberlake, 43, performed his song Cry Me a River at New York City’s Irving Plaza, he announced, “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to absolutely f–king nobody.”

Now a source told Us Weekly that Spears, 42, was annoyed after his onstage statement” he made during the concert.

Timberlake’s Cry Me a River was allegedly written about refers Spears’ infidelity which caused their split in the early 2000s.

The snub during the concert came after Spears had dished details of their past relationship in her memoir, The Woman In Me, which hit the shelves in October 2023.

After making a number of headlines, the Gimme More singer had taken to her Instagram to apologise.

“I wanna apologise for some of the things I wrote about in my book,” she wrote on January 28. “If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry.”

The insider shared that Spears and Timberlake “seemed [like] they were both moving forward,” in recent months, “but when he made fun of her apology it triggered her.”

Moreover, Spears’ inner circle is also upset about Timberlake’s mocking. “Those close to her wish Justin was more of a stand-up guy and would have just moved on because what he did really hinders her recovery,” the source said.

The source noted that Timberlake’s remarks were hurtful to Spears because of the mental trauma she had to go through when they were together.

They stated that Spears’ “turning point for her mental issues started when [Timberlake] broke up with her so many years ago,” which is why it affected her so much.

In her book, Spears had revealed that she had an abortion because Timberlake did not want to be a father at the time. She shared that Timberlake had cheated on her multiple time during the course of their three-year long relationship.
