Meghan Markle’s close friend, Abigail Spencer expressed her “immediate connection” that has endured since their meeting in 2007 in a recent interview.

Their friendship blossomed further when they both starred in the legal drama Suits, which premiered in 2011.

Spencer 42, was notably present at Meghan’s royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 and attended her New York City baby shower in 2019, held when Meghan was pregnant with Prince Archie, now four.

Their bond remains strong, as evidenced by their continued communication and recent sightings together, such as at Prince Harry’s polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in May 2022.

Speaking about her close friendship with the duchess, Spencer said: “It was 2007, I was doing a pilot for NBC, and I went to read with the people who were supposed to play my best friend.

They were testing other actresses. I walk in, I see this beautiful gorgeous creature at the end of the table and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’

We had an immediate something, you know? And her name is Meghan Markle.”

The duo also happen to share the same birthday,(4th August) which is something else they bonded over according to Spencer.

The Duchess of Sussex played paralegal Rachel Zane on Suits, while Spencer played Dana Scott, her rival.

Spencer added: “It was just something between us.”

“Our friendship really developed during that time, and deepened. She’s an incredible person.”
