Prince Harry issued his first statement on meeting his father King Charles after years-long feud
Prince Harry believed that he closed the chapter of his royal duties when he stepped down from his senior working royal role in 2020 with wife Meghan Markle.
Moreover, as the royal rift between him and his family grew deeper, the chances of him returning became slimmer. Although, things seemed to shift after his father King Charles as diagnosed with cancer last month.
Now, the Duke of Sussex is willing to return to his royal duties only if the monarch asked him to do so, an insider revealed to Page Six.
The younger son of Charles and Princess Diana dashed to see his father in an overnight after he received a personal call from the King about the diagnosis. Even though Harry’s meeting with the monarch only lasted for mere 30 minutes, it sparked debate of the father-son reconciling after a years-long feud.
Now, it appears that he is trying to get into the good graces of the royals, especially the King.
“I have a hard time believing if his dad asks for his help that Harry would say no, I think he would try,” the insider said. “I don’t think it’s something that Harry would ask [to do] on his own.”
Prince Harry also appeared on Good Morning America Friday, as he made his first statement on his meeting with King Charles.
“I spoke to him. I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could,” he said. “Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
